Approve or not Community Asset Transfer on
surplus council assets as detailed in the report
The Corporate Director – Resources presented a report which presented a number of proposals seeking the transfer of Council assets in order to secure, improve and maintain land and property for the benefit of the local communities.
Mr Hughes in attendance as the local member for Shap spoke in support of the community’s proposals for the former sports hall site and Old Courthouse, Main Street, Shap.
Members were asked to agree that the assets were transferred as set out in the report.
RESOLVED, that
(1) the freehold transfer of Wigton Pool, Stony Banks, Wigton as set out in the Officer Assessment at Appendix A to Wigton Baths Trust on detailed terms to be agreed by the Corporate Director of Resources in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Property, subject to clarification that any remaining legal and property issues are resolved be agreed;
(2) the transfer of the Former Highways Depot at Kirkland, Lamplugh as set out in the Officer Assessment at Appendix B to Lamplugh Parish Council on detailed terms to be agreed by the Corporate Director of Resources and in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Property, subject to clarification that any remaining legal and property issues are resolved be agreed;
(3) the transfer of the former Sports Hall site and Old Courthouse, Main Street, Shap as set out in the Officer Assessment at Appendix C to Shap Community Building Group on detailed terms to be agreed by the Corporate Director of Resources and in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Property, subject to clarification that any remaining legal and property issues are resolved be agreed.
