Cabinet received a joint report from the Corporate Directors – Children’s services and Resources in relation to the award of three Early Help contracts: Early Help Services 0-12; Early Help Services 11-19; and the Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance service.

Each contract would be awarded to commence on 1^st April, 2015, for a period of four years with an option for the Council to extend the contract for two further periods of two years beyond the end of the contract.

The results of each evaluation panel were set out in the report for Members information.

The Cabinet Member for Children’s Services moved amended recommendations as set out in the resolution below

RESOLVED,    that

                           (1)       to ensure continuity of service Cabinet agrees that the contract for the provision of services for young people aged 0-12 is awarded to those providers detailed in Appendix A to the report;

                           (2)       in order to ensure service continuity and to achieve both greater control and flexibility for the provision of both universal and targeted services, Cabinet agree the transition of services for young people aged 11-19 to an in-house service delivery model.  In order to effectively manage the change Cabinet agree to extend the contracts with the current providers detailed in Appendix B to the report for a period of six months;

                           (3)       the contract for the provision of Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Service be awarded to the current provider as detailed in appendix C to the report.
