Cabinet are asked to consider the response of
the Corporate Director, Health and Care Services to the
recommendations made by the Health Scrutiny Committee on Sight Loss
services
The Assistant Director – Health and Wellbeing/Director of Public Health thanked the Vice Chair for the work of Task Group in reviewing Sight Loss Services which was a significant issue and timely given the development of a draft Cumbria Vision Strategy. Following the one day review event held in September 2014, at which evidence was taken from a wide range of stakeholders a number of recommendations were made. The report responded positively to the recommendations of Scrutiny and with the exception of recommendation 4 which was partially supported all five other recommendations were supported fully as set out in the response.
RESOLVED,that recommendations 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 be supported and recommendation 4 be partially supported at this time and that the comments in relation to recommendation 4 be noted.
