The Cumbria Police and Crime Panel (PCP) has been established to
scrutinise and support the work of the Commissioner and is one of
the key checks and balances in relation to monitoring their
performance. (The PCP is not there to scrutinise the Chief
Constable). The Commissioner will be required to consult with the
PCP on his or her plans and budget for policing, as well as the
council tax precept and certain key appointments.
Cumbria County Council is the host local authority for the PCP and
will provide administrative and other support to the panel and its
members. For more information go to the
Cumbria PCP website http://cumbriapcp.org.uk
