The procurement of Pharmacy and GP Services supports the delivery of a range of Public Health outcomes. Pharmacy Services include Supply of Emergency Hormonal Contraception, Chlamydia Screening, Stop Smoking Service and the NHS Health Checks Programme. GP services include the NHS Health Check Programme, Level 1 Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections, Level 2 Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections, Opportunistic Chlamydia Screening in General Practice, Intra-uterine Contraceptive Device Fitting and Contraceptive Implants. The Council has a statutory duty to undertake all of the above services with the exception of stop smoking services. Cabinet approval is sought to commence procurement of a Preferred Provider Agreement for the provision of GP and Pharmacy Services for a period of 1 year from October 2014.
