Mental Health services are currently
commissioned separately in the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)
and the Council through separate commissioning groups.
The specialised commissioning team in Health and Care services
works closely with the CCG on Mental Health commissioning but
working separately leads to duplication of actions and can lead to
inefficiencies
Cabinet permission is sought to agree that the Council enters into
a HAF (Health Act Flexibilities) agreement with Cumbria CCG
pursuant to Section 75 of the National Health Service Act 2006,
managed through an aligned commissioning team, to enable the
partners to establish and maintain a Pooled Fund to formalise and
develop integrated services for people with mental ill
health.
