Cumbria County Council is responsible for
commissioning care, support and preventative activity that meets
the needs of the residents of the county. The council must assess
the needs of the population, determine which needs are eligible for
services (according to nationally-set criteria), then design,
procure, directly provide or otherwise arrange, monitor and
evaluate those services ensuring appropriate outcomes are
delivered.
Cabinet approval is sought for the Commissioning Strategy for Care
and Support in Cumbria 2015 – 2020 which sets out how Cumbria
County Council will commission services that will meet the needs of
residents and fulfil its statutory adult social care
responsibilities.
